During my time at RK, I worked on multiple accounting, bookkeeping, and financial analysis engagements for clients across different industries. My responsibilities involved understanding each client's business, maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial reports, and supporting management with financial analysis. I handled QuickBooks Online bookkeeping, bank and credit card reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, transaction categorization, payroll accounting, and month-end reporting. I also worked on bookkeeping cleanup, identifying discrepancies, maintaining supporting schedules, and ensuring financial statements were accurate and up to date. As part of real estate and rental accounting engagements, I worked on property-level income and expense tracking, rental income reconciliation, mortgage and loan accounts, security deposits, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting for multiple entities. For manufacturing and project-based clients, I worked on job costing, material and labor cost tracking, project profitability, budgeting, progress billing, payment schedules, and variance analysis. I also developed and maintained estimating and pricing models to calculate project costs, margins, and selling prices. I was also involved in financial modeling, budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, KPI reporting, and management dashboards. Depending on the engagement, I worked with tools including QuickBooks Online, Xero, Excel, Google Sheets, Gusto, Jobber, PandaDoc, and Coupler. Working at RK gave me valuable experience working with different businesses and understanding how accounting information connects with operations, profitability, cash flow, and business decision-making.
