I am a seasoned journalist, editor, translator, and academic with extensive experience across print, broadcast, and digital media, working in both Assamese and English. My career spans leading newspapers, public broadcasters, and digital news platforms. I began my professional journey at Asomiya Khabar, a prominent Assamese daily, where I worked for nearly five years in news writing, editing, translation, and feature writing, gaining strong grassroots newsroom experience. I later joined Dainik Asam, the oldest Assamese daily, handling news and feature writing, editing, translation, page layout and design, editorial decision-making, and supervision of multiple news and feature pages. In addition to newsroom roles, I have translated and transcreated fiction and non-fiction works between Assamese and English, including college and university-level reference books, with a strong focus on linguistic accuracy and cultural nuance. My poems and articles have been published in several book formats, reflecting my engagement with creative and literary writing. My broadcast experience includes working with All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan, editing and translating English and Assamese news bulletins and non-news programmes. I have also contributed to Payobhora and the Publication Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. Currently, I am the Editor-in-Chief of Nest of News, a digital platform covering national and international news in English and Assamese, combining editorial leadership, content strategy, and digital journalism. Education: Ph.D. in Mass Communication & Journalism (2024), M.A. in Mass Communication & Journalism (2012), M.A. in English Literature (2007) — Gauhati University.
