Broadcast IT Engineer / Workflow Automation Developer with 18+ years in TV operations and media workflows. I specialize in automation-heavy, non-creative video processing and system integration — the kind of work that needs reliability, repeatability, and clear specs. What I do: • Batch video transcoding and format conversion (FFmpeg-based pipelines) • Automated QC checks (black/silence detection, format validation) with readable reports • Workflow automation: watch folders, scheduled runs, throttling, multi-node processing • Delivery automation to common targets (S3/FTP/network shares) with notifications • Metadata handling and validation (naming rules, audio mapping, reports) • Scripted processing for large libraries and repetitive tasks Background highlights (broadcast-grade): • Built and maintained a multi-node FFmpeg transcoding platform used in production for 14 years • Implemented workflow validation and schedule-to-playout integration logic • Archive/DR tooling and automation (Telestream DIVA, plus Vantage workflow experience) • Practical AI-assisted workflows (Whisper-based captioning, experiments with FFmpeg + Whisper + OpenAI API) If you have a repetitive or large-scale processing job, I can turn it into a predictable workflow: you provide inputs + rules, I deliver consistent outputs + logs/reports. Send your specs (formats, loudness/audio mapping, naming, destinations, QC rules), and I’ll propose the simplest reliable pipeline.
