Initial Role as Data Engineer: Developed and maintained data pipelines essential for processing and storing data in Data Lakes and Data Warehouses. This foundational work was crucial in setting up the infrastructure for large-scale data handling. Advancement to Designing and Building Large-Scale Data Pipelines: Quickly transitioned to a more complex role involving the design, building, and testing of large-scale data pipelines using AWS Glue. This step marked a significant progression in my responsibilities and the complexity of tasks handled. ETL Process Management and Self-Service BI Enablement: Responsible for developing and managing the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. A key aspect of this role was to enable self-service BI (Business Intelligence) solutions tailored for the automotive industry, streamlining data access and analysis. Outcome Collaborative System Design with Multiple Stakeholders: Collaborated with Reply, Datalab, Volkswagen, and several other stakeholders to create a scalable Data Lake solution. This project was a large-scale, cooperative effort addressing the challenges of a corporate structure. Implementation of Comprehensive Data Management Features: The system included critical elements such as GDPR compliance, PII (Personally Identifiable Information) identification, data classification, quality monitoring, and notification management for data quality. These components were integral in ensuring the system's effectiveness and compliance with regulatory standards. Enhanced Data Transformation and Quality Management: Enabled the transformation, loading, and extraction of data from diverse sources, significantly improving the data handling process. The quality monitoring and notification management system played a crucial role in maintaining high data standards and reliability.
