20 Japanese Reading Comprehension Content Sets for Language Learning Web App

This project involved creating 20 complete content sets for a Japanese language learning web application focused on reading comprehension. Each set included an original Japanese story (500–800 characters), an English translation, and a Japanese audio recording — giving learners a fully integrated reading and listening experience. The top priority in writing each story was making it genuinely enjoyable to read. Engaging content keeps learners motivated, and a story that captures interest naturally encourages them to read to the end. Beyond that, each story was tailored to its target proficiency level — adjusting grammar structures, sentence patterns, and writing style to feel natural and appropriate for learners at each stage. Translations were done with a closer, more faithful approach to the original Japanese, making them useful not only for comprehension but also as a reference for understanding how Japanese sentence structures work. Audio recordings were produced with clear, natural native-level pronunciation, carefully paced to match the difficulty level of each story. A selection of sample sets is featured in this portfolio.

Japanese Self-Help Book for HSS/HSP Readers | Based on Personal Experience

I authored a Japanese self-help book for HSS/HSP individuals — a personality type estimated to represent only about 6% of the population. The book was later published on Amazon Kindle. It draws entirely from my own lived experience as an HSS/HSP and offers practical, relatable insights on three core areas of life: work, hobbies, and relationships. HSS/HSP individuals are characterized by a strong desire for excitement and new experiences while simultaneously being highly sensitive and easily overwhelmed by overstimulation. Because this personality type is rarer than even blood type AB, there is relatively little content specifically tailored to their unique challenges. This book was written to help fill that gap. The goal was to provide fellow HSS/HSP readers with concrete, experience-based perspectives that may help them navigate life in a way that works for their unique temperament — and perhaps feel a little less alone in the process.

Japanese Folklore Horror – Sessho-seki

I wrote an original supernatural horror story inspired by Japanese folklore, centered around the legend of Sessho-seki (The Killing Stone). The story reimagines elements associated with Tamamo-no-Mae and explores themes of transformation, obsession, and lingering curses.
