FAQ
What kind of file quality do you need from me to start?
Please provide a clear, readable, and well-scanned PDF, JPEG, or PNG image. The sharper and cleaner the original document is, the faster and more perfectly accurate your final MIDI and MusicXML files will turn out!
Can my MusicXML file be edited in programs like Sibelius or Finale?
Yes, absolutely! MusicXML is a universal format. While I use MuseScore Studio to process and clean up the notations, the exported MusicXML file will open perfectly into Sibelius, Finale, or Dorico for you to edit seamlessly.
Do you accept complex multi-page scores or piano pieces with two hands?
Yes, I do! However, my base $5 package covers up to 1 page of a single melody line. For multi-hand piano arrangements, multi-instrument scores, or documents with multiple pages, please look at the Gig Extras menu when ordering, or message me directly so I can send you a custom offer.
Can you convert a handwritten score?
Not in these packages. They cover clear printed notation. Please send a sample before ordering if the source is unusual.
Will the PDF look exactly like the original?
No. It is a readable proof of the converted musical content. Exact page matching or publication engraving is a separate service.
Why receive both MusicXML and MIDI?
MusicXML carries notation information for score editors. MIDI is useful for playback and production but does not retain the original page layout.
Do you check recognition errors?
Yes. I compare the agreed notation with the source, including pitches, rhythms, rests, accidentals and repeats. Unclear source details must be resolved before delivery.
What does a revision cover?
Corrections to the agreed source pages. Additional pages, a new arrangement or changing the source requires a separate quote.
