I've owned four restaurants, a coffee shop, a food truck and a bakery. Built them up, sold them, went back to writing software.
So when I build you a quote form, a loyalty card or a closing checklist, I've been the person who had to use it at six in the morning. I know what bad software really costs — not the license, the hour a day somebody spends working around it.
Software since 2005, master's in mathematics.
My rule: if your staff or your customers can't work it out in ten seconds, it isn't finished.

They install on a phone like an app and keep working with no signal. Every one is built with the owner, not from a spec. Having run the kind of business these are for, I know which corners matter and which ones don't.

Built and ran four restaurants, a coffee shop, a food truck and a bakery. Sold each of them. Hiring and scheduling, pricing and purchasing, inventory, closing procedures, customer service — and every piece of software that was supposed to help and mostly didn't. That's where the apps I build now come from. I've been the person at six in the morning finding out what went wrong overnight.

I was surprised at how fast Mike was able to pump out this app. I asked him to create a visual catalogue of cooperative games for kids, and I was really impressed with the visuals, as I’m a visual learner. I’m excited to be able to use this app this fall as an outdoor instructor. I think it will help...
