Significant role in performance design (using Vdbench, Iometer, FIO, Sysbench, TPC-C & TPC-E), analytics, benchmarking, automation, troubleshooting, debugging and characterization of storage drives (SAS, SATA and NVMe), PCIe Nytro products and host bus adapters using Perl, Python and Bash. Involved in design, analytics, benchmarking, debugging and characterization of performance aspects of SAS drives, SATA drives, NVMe drives, PCIe Nytro products and host bus adapters. My focus was on the products used in enterprise environment. • Performance verification of SATA, SAS and NVMe SSDs Validated the performance of various SATA, SAS and NVMe Seagate flash products. These products offer different buckets of multifold performance when compared to HDDs. • PCIe Nytro Flash Accelerator Cards Validated the performance of PCIe Nytro Flash Accelerator Cards. PCIe Nytro Flash Accelerator Cards enable high performance, low latency and low CPU burden by adding cache to servers. Some of my duties include • Analysis of IOPS, throughput, histogram, latency measurements, confidence intervals and CPU utilization • Verify the behavior of SSD drives/ PCIe Nytro flash cards using workloads with Sequential/Random access, different Read/Write percentages, different Block sizes/Alignment and different queue depth • Debug the root cause of performance problem using SAS/SATA trace, block trace and xperf trace analysis • Analysis of performance characteristics of SSD drives/PCIe Nytro flash cards with different combination of servers, host bus adapters and operating system • Perform competitive analysis of SSD drives/PCIe Nytro flash cards
