I started my career at Dodd Group in 2023 as a Contract Support, initially focusing on administrative tasks, TrustMark submissions and supporting retrofit schemes. As my responsibilities grew, I became increasingly involved in managing project data, financial information, programme tracking and compliance documentation across schemes worth over £5 million and covering more than 900 properties. Throughout this progression, my Excel skills developed alongside my role. I went from using Excel primarily to track jobs and organise information to creating more advanced trackers, databases, automated calendars, reporting tools and financial spreadsheets. As I became more involved in the operational side of the business, I learned how to use Excel to improve processes, automate repetitive tasks and make large amounts of information easier to manage. My experience at Dodd Group has played a major role in developing my Excel skills. It has taught me how to take real-world business requirements and turn them into practical, user-friendly spreadsheets that save time, improve accuracy and make information easier to understand. This experience has also given me the confidence to now offer custom Excel spreadsheet development as a service.
