For 13 years at Apple Retail in Japan, I worked as a Creative Pro, leading workshops that taught customers how to use Apple's creative applications. Standing in front of Japanese users every day and explaining software hands-on, I saw exactly where a globally designed app's wording, flow, and assumptions connected with them — and where they quietly got lost. Teaching is translation. I turned complex, English-origin software into something a non-technical Japanese user could understand and trust. I also guided customers through device setup and data migration, including iCloud. That ground-level view of how real Japanese users react to products built elsewhere is the foundation of the localization review and Japan market-entry work I now do for global software teams.
