If your WordPress site redirects visitors, shows spam pages, was suspended by your host, or carries a Google warning, the files and database need to be cleaned by hand. A plugin scan alone often misses backdoors.

I have cleaned 350+ infected websites since 2019. My process:

1. Back up the infected site before touching anything.

2. Scan files and the database, and compare core files with clean WordPress copies.

3. Remove malware, injected code, backdoors, rogue admin users and spam pages.

4. Update or replace vulnerable plugins and themes, reset salts and passwords.

5. Harden the install: file permissions, file editing off, login protection.

6. Re-scan, and request a review if Google or your host flagged the site.

You get a report listing what was found, where it was, and what I changed.
