. The Brief: Capturing the Essence of Innovation The journey began with a detailed brief from Philips. They wanted an animation that would highlight the TV’s key features, it’s ultra-thin design, perfect contrast, vivid colors, and ambient lighting, while also conveying the emotional impact of owning such a cutting-edge device. Our challenge was to balance technical accuracy with creative storytelling, ensuring the animation felt both aspirational and relatable. 2. Concept development: Crafting a story Before diving into 3D modeling, we spent time brainstorming the narrative. How could we make the TV the hero of the story? We decided to focus on the journey of light and color, starting with a cinematic reveal of the TV and gradually showcasing its features in a way that felt engaging. We storyboarded the entire animation, mapping out each scene: A dramatic reveal of the TV’s sleek design. Close-ups of the OLED display, emphasize perfect blacks and vibrant colors. A showcase of the ambient lighting feature, extending the on-screen colors into the room. A final scene placing the TV in a modern living space, highlighting its role as a centerpiece of home entertainment. 3. 3D Modeling: Transforming AI Mockups into Detailed 3D Models Our process began by generating AI mockups, which served as visual inspiration for the client. Using advanced AI tools, we prepared multiple design variations, each with unique details and styles. These options allowed Philips’ team to choose the version that best aligned with their vision and requirements.
