🌿 1. Site planning and design Analyze garden areas to understand soil, climate, plant types, drainage, and visitor use. Create design plans for new or renovated garden sections—like themed gardens, pathways, lawns, and viewing areas. 🎨 2. Aesthetic and functional layout Develop layouts that balance beauty, ecological function, and visitor experience. Choose locations for plant collections, seating areas, water features, sculptures, and educational signage. 📐 3. Drawing and technical documentation Produce technical drawings and landscape plans (often using software like CAD). Prepare details for construction, planting beds, lighting, irrigation, and drainage. 🧪 4. Conservation and sustainability Integrate principles of plant conservation, biodiversity, and sustainability into designs. Work with botanists and horticulturists to protect rare species and maintain ecological balance. 🛠️ 5. Project supervision and coordination Oversee landscape implementation, ensuring contractors and gardeners follow design intent. Visit sites regularly to monitor progress, quality, and safety. 🤝 6. Collaboration and consultation Work with directors, researchers, horticulture teams, engineers, educators, and other staff to plan improvements. Communicate design ideas clearly and adjust plans based on feedback. 📝 7. Reporting and documentation Write reports on landscape conditions, design proposals, environmental impact, and project outcomes. Help maintain records of garden changes and conservation efforts.
