Über mich
Hi, I'm Melisa! I'm someone who loves analyzing books after I finish them—thinking about characters, story progression, emotional moments, and the reasons certain stories stay with me. I mainly read fantasy, romance, and romantasy, and I enjoy exploring what makes readers connect with a book. I created and led a youth book club where I planned discussions, prepared questions, and encouraged different interpretations of stories. As a beta reader, I provide honest, thoughtful written feedback from a reader's perspective, focusing on characters, pacing, themes, and overall reading experience.... Mehr lesen

Project Leader

Jun 2024 - Jul 20251 yr 1 mo

As the project leader of "Between the Lines," a youth book club created to encourage reading, comprehension, and interest in literature, I was responsible for developing and managing the project from the ground up. The year-long initiative focused on creating a welcoming social space where young readers could discuss books, share perspectives, and develop their own interpretations of stories. I planned and facilitated weekly meetings by preparing discussion topics, activities, and questions designed to encourage critical thinking and deeper engagement with the books we read. I selected books based on the participants' interests, preferred genres, and personal reading experiences, while also considering accessibility and suitability for different readers. Throughout the project, I encouraged open discussions by asking follow-up questions, valuing different perspectives, and creating an environment where participants felt comfortable expressing their thoughts and opinions. We analyzed characters, themes, and story developments, discussed predictions about upcoming events in the books, and reflected on how our expectations compared to the actual story progression. In addition to leading the book discussions, I managed the organizational aspects of the project, including scheduling meetings, creating reading plans, preparing materials, promoting the book club through local schools and social media, and managing a monthly budget provided through Youngstival. The experience strengthened my leadership, communication, project management, and literary analysis skills.

Library Assistant

Feb 2021 - Nov 20221 yr 9 mos

While pursuing my studies, I worked part-time as a library assistant, taking on a variety of responsibilities within the library. I provided customer service by being approachable, solution-oriented, and attentive to visitors' needs, whether assisting them in finding materials, answering questions, or discussing books, personal opinions, and recommendations across different genres. Additionally, I supported administrative tasks, including managing library deliveries, which required accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. I also used my computer skills to assist visitors with technical issues, printing services, and digital resources. Working in a library strengthened my communication skills and further developed my appreciation for literature and engaging with readers from a wide range of interests.
