I am a Design Engineer with experience in the automotive interior plastic domain, specializing in the design and development of plastic components using CATIA V5. My professional experience has provided me with a strong understanding of the complete product development process, starting from concept and initial design studies through to detailed CAD development, design validation, tooling feasibility, and manufacturing considerations. I have developed a strong interest in automotive product design because it combines engineering principles, creativity, manufacturing knowledge, and attention to detail. My primary focus is on developing plastic components that satisfy functional requirements while also meeting aesthetic, quality, packaging, assembly, and manufacturability requirements. In my role as a Design Engineer, I have worked on various automotive interior components, including air vents, cup holders, table trays, glove boxes, and other interior plastic components. Working on different products has helped me understand that each component requires a different design approach depending on its function, available packaging space, customer requirements, assembly method, material selection, and manufacturing process. I have gained practical exposure to designing components with consideration for their interaction with surrounding parts and the overall vehicle interior architecture. This experience has helped me develop the ability to look beyond the individual CAD part and understand how a component functions as part of a larger product or vehicle system.
