Professional CAD/CAM Engineering: From Concept to the CNC Shop Floor
I dont just build clean 3D CAD modelsI design them with a deep understanding of actual manufacturing constraints. If a part cant be easily clamped, fixtures, or machined without breaking tools, its a bad design. I bridge the gap between engineering theory and practical CNC production.
What I actually do here:
- Reverse Engineering: Converting physical parts, legacy automotive/industrial components, broken machinery pieces, or raw 3D mesh scans (.STL/.OBJ) into fully parametric, editable 3D CAD models with flawless geometric intent.
- Smart DFM (Design for Manufacturing): Optimizing pocket depths, avoiding unreachable corners, and calculating proper radii to slash your CNC cycle times and tool wear.
- Advanced CAM & Setup Strategy: Programming complex multi-setup jobs (3-axis, 4 and 5 axis centers), multi-part nesting, and designing custom soft jaws.
Deliverables: Production-ready STEP/IGES, native Fusion 360 (.f3d) files, 2D technical drawings with proper tolerances, and shop-tested, optimized G-code.
Drop me a message with your machine setup, material, and blueprints before ordering. Let's make it machinable.

FAQ
What information or files do I need to provide to start?
Ideally, send a 3D scan (.STL/.OBJ), a rough 2D sketch with clear dimensions, or a physical part photo. Please also specify the target material, what CNC machinery/software you use, and if you need the final G-code or just the CAD files.
Can you perform reverse engineering from a damaged or worn-out part?
Yes. I don't just copy the wear and tear; I analyze the component's mechanical function, restore its original design intent, and optimize the geometry for modern CNC machining (DFM) or 3D printing.
What CNC machines and axes do you program for?
I specialize in advanced 3-axis and 4-axis milling centers. I can also handle 5-axis simultaneous programming for moderate-complexity parts (such as surface profiling or 3+2 positioning) to minimize setups, reduce tool wear, and cut machine cycle times.
How does the 3D Printed Prototype Extra work? (Europe Only)
If you are in Europe, I can 3D print a physical PLA/PETG or technical materials prototype of your design to test real-world fitment before you block a CNC machine. It adds 3-5 days to delivery for printing and shipping. Contact me first for a volume check.
Do you sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) for proprietary designs?
Absolutely. Many projects involve industrial secrets or patented designs. I am fully open to signing a formal NDA before you share any sensitive CAD models, blueprints, or project files.
What happens if the part doesn’t fit or needs an adjustment?
All packages include revisions. If there is a dimensional error or a clearance issue based on our agreed specs, I will modify the CAD model and adjust the toolpaths/G-code at no extra cost until the part fits perfectly on your assembly.
Can you optimize an existing CAD file to make it cheaper to machine?
Yes. Send me your STEP file and I will perform a DFM analysis. I will modify deep pockets, unreachable corner fillets, and complex setups to optimize the model for faster machining, which directly slashes your material and machine-hour costs.
Will the G-code match my specific CNC machine and controller?
Yes. I program strictly using your shop's specific post-processor to ensure 100% compatibility. Additionally, if you have a unique machine setup, I can build or modify a custom Fusion 360 post-processor tailored exactly to your CNC controller and kinematics.
Can you build or modify a custom post-processor for my CNC machine?
Yes. I can tweak your existing Fusion 360 post-processor or build a custom one tailored to your specific controller and kinematics (3/4/5-axis). This is a premium, high-risk service and is priced separately as a Gig Extra based on your machine's complexity. Contact me first.
