I have been working as a Scientific Officer (Forensic DNA Analyst) for the National Forensic DNA Profiling Laboratory in Bangladesh since 2006. I am responsible for analyzing forensic casework samples. I embarked on doctoral research at the University of Dhaka. I focused on gaining a deeper understanding of molecular genetics in humans, including the statistical parameters of DNA profiles. This research provided me with ample opportunities to expand my knowledge of molecular technologies. As I delved further into my research, I developed a keen interest in statistical analysis of DNA data. I completed my Postdoc research at the IMIS, University of Kiel, Germany. During my research, I focused on examining the evidence value of a Y chromosomal profile in forensics. I conducted computer simulations to study the spatial and temporal propagation of Y haplotypes, taking into account factors such as mutation rates, migration patterns, number of markers, and population size. I possess extensive experience in a laboratory setting, specifically focusing on molecular biology techniques and DNA data analyzing. I am skilled in bioinformatics tasks such as primer design, phylogenetic analysis, haplogroup prediction, and forward-time population simulations. I have acquired extensive experience with various software applications utilized in forensic genetics analyses, including PowerStats v1.2, MEGA v6.06, Arlequin v3.5, GenAlEx v6.5, YHRD tools, NETWORK v5, and Whit Athey's Haplogroup Predictor v5. Additionally, I possess a strong understanding of genetic data matching software, such as R, GenoProof v1.0, CODIS, and Familias v3. Recently, I have gained experience with EuroForMix v4.0.4, a probabilistic genotyping software employed for DNA mixture analysis. Furthermore, I have hands-on experience in experimental evolution and competition experiments acquired during the development of forensic assays, which align with the skills you are seeking in a successful candidate.
