I served as an assistant to JICA's Long-Term Expert in the Balkans (stationed in Belgrade, Serbia) over the final 2 years of JICA Project for Strengthening and Expanding the Mentoring Services for Small and Medium Enterprises in the Western Balkan Countries. I handled communication with counterparts, dispatchment of trainers to the region, Long-Term Expert's participation in regional and local meetings, as well as interpreting and coordination assistance.

Over the duration of the JICA/Belgrade City Administration Project for Modernization of Public Transport of Belgrade (PROMOD), I assisted a team of Japanese experts (led by consultants from Almec Corporation) with work related to translation, interpreting, coordination, and communication with local Serbian entities/Project counterparts. It was in this project that I started honing my skills of simultaneous interpreting.
