I was commissioned by a mother to illustrate "The Midnight Star Adventure", a children’s story written by her son. The project involved turning the young author’s ideas into engaging, child-friendly children book illustration while preserving the imagination and personality behind his original story. My role included developing the visual direction of the children story book, designing the characters, illustrating key scenes, and maintaining consistency in the characters, colors, and overall atmosphere throughout the project. I worked closely with the client to review each stage, incorporate feedback, and make sure the final illustrations reflected how her son imagined the story. The finished artwork helped transform his manuscript into a visually engaging children’s book and gave the young author the opportunity to see his own story professionally brought to life. It was a pleasant time bringing this book to life. children story book illustration | children book illustration | children book illustrator | storybook illustration | picture book illustration | watercolor children book illustration | KDP children book illustration | children book character design | children book cover illustration | African American children book illustration.
