FAQ
My recordings have mistakes in them, can you fix them?
Yes, you'd be surprised how much can be fixed in post-production. Every day I correct wrong notes, rhythms, brass splits, clarinet squeak, accidental left-hand string pizzicati... the list goes on. It's a passion of mine!
I'm a home recorder. Can you make my home multi-track recordings sound better?
Yes! These projects are always exciting to me! People work so hard to lay down beautiful tracks, and a little editing and mixing can really make us feel proud of our work.
Can you master MP3?
WAV is best, but you'd be amazed how much can be done to an MP3!
Do you need professionally recorded files to work with?
In the best-case scenario, yes! But in the real world, my job is to make your recordings sound better, and I can do that with smartphone recordings!
What hardware do you test mixes/masters on?
I test masters on four main playback devices. 1) studio monitor speakers 2) studio headphones, 3) consumer headphones 4) and consumer speakers.
Can you mix and master Jazz, Indie, Rock, etc?
Yes! Although my speciality is 'legit' music, I recently mastered a psychedelic punk album. It was a musical and professional career highlight!
