What is an author press kit, and do I really need one?
It's one file a journalist, blogger or podcast host can open and get everything from: your bio, the book, the angle, and how to reach you. You need one the moment anyone shows interest, because that's when you have minutes, not days.
What do you need from me to start?
Book title, genre, synopsis, author name, launch date, your cover file, and buy links if the book is live. An author photo and any existing bio or reviews help. I don't need the manuscript.
Which package should I pick?
Basic if you just need one clean page to send on request. Standard if you're pitching podcasts and media properly. Premium if you want the full EPK plus the editable file so you can update it yourself later.
How fast will I get it?
Basic 3 days, Standard 4 days, Premium 6 days. Sending your cover file and details in the first message is what speeds it up. Add the 48-hour extra if you're up against a launch date.
I don't have a bio or any reviews yet. Can you still build it?
Yes, and most first-time authors don't. I'll ask you a few questions by message and write the bio from your answers. Praise pages stay out until you have real quotes. I won't invent reviews or credentials.
Do you design it, or just write the text?
Both. You get a laid-out, print-ready PDF with your cover and photo placed properly, not a Word document with headings. Clean and readable is the goal, since editors scan these rather than read them.
What format do I get, and can I edit it later?
PDF as standard, print-ready at 300 DPI on request. Premium includes the editable Canva or Word source file so you can update your bio, reviews and buy links yourself. It's a gig extra on the other packages.
What counts as a revision?
Changes to the kit I delivered: wording, bio tone, layout, the order of sections, or details to correct. Adding pages, a second book, or a full redesign in a new direction is a new order or an extra.
Can you also write a press release or send the kit to media?
A full press release page is a gig extra here, or my separate press release gig. Sending it out is my distribution gig, not this one. This gig builds the asset so you always have it ready to send.
