I’m a native Estonian translator and subtitler with a Bachelor’s degree from the Estonian Academy of Arts. Created and edited Estonian subtitles for approximately 25 films. English to Estonian, Finnish to Estonian, Russian to Estonian and German to Estonian subtitle translation. Experience working with Icelandic-language film material and French subtitles through machine-translation-assisted workflows and detailed post-editing. Manual transcription of film dialogue where no suitable subtitle source was available. Subtitle timing, synchronization, formatting and readability editing using Subtitle Edit. Proofreading and rewriting machine-translated or AI-assisted text into natural Estonian. Experience with contemporary dialogue as well as literary, archaic and period-style language.
