I was the first internal auditor at New Hampshire Electric Cooperative, so I had to build the function from scratch, everything from audit programs to how we reported results to leadership. I designed and ran audits for things like Accounts Payable, Cash Receipts, Capital Expenditures, and Procure‑to‑Pay, always with an eye on where money, time, or accuracy were leaking. I regularly presented findings to management and the Audit Committee and got very good at turning messy data into clear, simple takeaways people could act on. I also managed property taxes across 115 towns, handling filings, abatements, and appeals so we stayed compliant and avoided surprises. This work is where my content skills started: I learned how to sift through a lot of information, pull out what really matters, and communicate it in a way busy people will actually read and respond to—exactly what I now do with UGC and performance‑focused content.
