I served as a Construction Manager with SPEK JV on the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project — one of the region’s largest infrastructure developments linking Uganda’s oilfields to the Indian Ocean at Tanga. The pipeline spans approximately 1,443 km and is designed to transport crude oil from Uganda’s Lake Albert oilfields to global markets via Tanzania’s coast, making it the longest electrically heated crude pipeline project of its kind in the world. In this leadership role, I oversaw and coordinated all construction activities along multiple pipeline sections, ensuring works progressed safely, efficiently and in accordance with engineering specifications and international standards. My responsibilities included developing and managing construction schedules, supervising multidisciplinary field teams, and coordinating logistics across remote and challenging terrain. I ensured that project milestones were achieved while maintaining strict adherence to health, safety and environmental requirements. I also led stakeholder engagement on site — communicating with engineers, subcontractors, client representatives and regulatory authorities — to align execution strategies with design intent and contractual obligations. I monitored quality control systems, resolved on-site construction challenges, and implemented corrective actions when necessary. Through detailed reporting and progress documentation, I provided the project leadership with accurate visibility into field performance, risks and opportunities for optimization. My work helped ensure pipeline construction advanced steadily toward key delivery targets and supported the broader goal of enhancing regional energy infrastructure and export capacity.

Site Engineer

As a Site Engineer on a large-scale Design and Build railway infrastructure project, I was actively involved in the execution and supervision of major civil works from initial site preparation to structural construction. My responsibilities included setting out buildings, railway right-of-way (ROW), and structural elements to ensure accurate alignment and compliance with design specifications. I supervised site clearance, construction of mobilization camps, and development of service roads to support project logistics. I managed embankment construction and excavation works (cut and fill operations), ensuring proper compaction, levels, and stability. I was also involved in the construction of precast concrete box culverts, bridges, underpasses, overpasses, livestock crossings, and drainage systems, maintaining strict adherence to engineering standards and quality control procedures. Structural Engineer

I worked as a Structural Engineer at RH Engineering Consultants Ltd., where I was involved in the detailed structural design of institutional and medical buildings from planning through regulatory submission. For a proposed 2-storey institutional building at Kibaha Secondary School, I coordinated technical meetings, developed a structured design-phase project plan, and created customized Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for reinforced concrete design calculations. My responsibilities included structural load determination, frame analysis to obtain internal forces, and full reinforced concrete design of beams, slabs, columns, and foundations. I prepared detailed structural drawings, comprehensive bar bending schedules, and submission-ready design reports for municipal approval. I also contributed to the structural design of a 7-storey medical institutional building with a 2-storey basement in Dar Es Salaam. The project required careful coordination due to its integration with an operational hospital facility. I participated in stakeholder meetings, prepared work programs outlining design deliverables, and assessed the effects of construction activities on the existing structure to ensure safety and service continuity. Using STAAD.Pro Advanced, I performed full structural modeling and analysis of the building frame, followed by reinforced concrete design of all structural elements. I produced detailed structural drawings, prepared bar bending schedules, and compiled comprehensive design reports for submission to regulatory authorities. Through these projects, I strengthened my expertise in reinforced concrete design, multi-storey structural analysis, technical documentation, stakeholder coordination, and development of calculation tools. I deliver precise, code-compliant, and construction-ready structural solutions tailored to project requirements.
