Über diesen Service
SBA 8(a), WOSB, EDWOSB, HUBZone, and SDVOSB certification prep through MySBA Certifications. I handle eligibility checks, document prep, narrative writing, and portal submission support.
Since 2025, WOSB and SDVOSB certifications are mandatory self-certification no longer qualifies you for set-aside contracts. A lot of businesses that thought they were covered are finding out the hard way.
I have prepared certification packages for construction firms, IT consultants, staffing agencies, and professional services businesses. I know what SBA reviewers look for and what gets applications kicked back.
What I handle:
- Eligibility assessment (8(a), WOSB, EDWOSB, HUBZone, SDVOSB, VOSB)
- Personal and social disadvantage narrative (8(a))
- Ownership and control documentation (WOSB, EDWOSB)
- HUBZone employee location verification
- MySBA Certifications portal submission
- SBA query responses and follow-up
The 8(a) program alone gave businesses nearly $70B in federal contracts last year. If you qualify, there's no good reason to wait.

FAQ
What is the SBA 8(a) certification and who qualifies?
The 8(a) Business Development Program is a 9-year program for small businesses owned by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. You need a net worth under $850K (excluding business equity and primary home), adjusted gross income unde
How long does 8(a) certification take?
SBA typically takes 90–180 days to process 8(a) applications. Having your documentation complete and your narratives well-written speeds up the review. I help you get the paperwork right on the first submission.
Is the WOSB certification now mandatory?
Yes. Since 2022 and fully enforced by 2025, businesses must be certified through MySBA Certifications to compete for WOSB and EDWOSB set-aside contracts. Self-certification no longer counts.
What's the difference between WOSB and EDWOSB?
WOSB applies to woman-owned businesses in industries where women are underrepresented. EDWOSB is an additional tier requiring economic disadvantage (net worth under $850K). EDWOSB firms can pursue both WOSB and EDWOSB set-asides.
How does HUBZone certification work?
Your principal office must be in a HUBZone-designated area, and at least 35% of your employees must live in a HUBZone. Certification is valid for 3 years and gives you a 10% price evaluation preference in open competition.
Can I hold multiple SBA certifications at the same time?
Yes. Many businesses hold 8(a), WOSB, HUBZone, and SDVOSB simultaneously. Each opens different contract opportunities. I can help you identify which ones you qualify for and prioritize the applications.
What is the SDVOSB certification and how is it different from VOSB?
SDVOSB is for veterans with a service-connected disability. VOSB covers all veteran-owned businesses. Both are certified through MySBA. SDVOSB firms get priority in VA contracting under the Veterans First Contracting Program.
What documents do I need for 8(a) certification?
You will need tax returns (3 years personal and business), financial statements, ownership documentation, articles of incorporation or organization, personal financial statements, and a personal narrative demonstrating social disadvantage.
What happens after I'm certified?
You will be searchable in the SBA's Small Business Search database. Contracting officers use this to find vendors for set-aside opportunities. You can also pursue sole-source contracts (especially under 8(a)) without competing against other firms.
Can you help if my application was denied or returned?
Yes. I can review the denial or return notice, identify the specific issues, help you correct or strengthen your documentation, and guide you through the reconsideration process.
