Both processes help in correcting the content. Proofreading involves checking layouts and errors, while editing is a more in-depth check that reviews and suggests ideas to improve the content.
What should I do first, editing or proofreading?
The first step after writing is editing, while proofreading is the last check for errors.
Do you use any grammar check software?
No, I do not. While grammar check (or spellcheck) software can be helpful, it cannot capture the finer nuances of the Italian language. For that matter, I do all the work manually.
How do I count the number of words in my document?
The word count will appear in the screen’s bottom left corner in Microsoft Word. If you are using the 2003 version (or Apache OpenOffice), click “Word Count” from the “Tools” menu.
