I worked as an independent Shopify store designer, taking on client projects sourced through Upwork and other freelance channels where applicable. My responsibilities covered understanding each merchant's products and target customers, reviewing the requested store structure, and planning the pages and theme changes needed for the agreed scope. Depending on the project, I worked on Shopify store setup, theme configuration, homepage sections, menus, collection pages, product pages, policy pages, and basic storefront settings. I organised product information so customers could understand product options, pricing, images, and key details without having to search through a crowded layout. For redesign projects, I reviewed the existing storefront and identified practical improvements to navigation, page hierarchy, mobile presentation, consistency, and the path from product discovery to checkout. I used the client's brand assets, copy, product images, and reference websites to guide the visual direction. Where an app or integration was required, I checked its purpose and compatibility before adding or configuring it, and clarified any paid subscription or third-party requirement with the client. I also kept clients informed about the work completed, questions awaiting their input, and any issues that could affect the timeline. Before handover, I checked the main pages, links, menus, product presentation, and responsive layouts at common screen sizes. I documented any remaining client-side tasks, such as supplying final product content, connecting payment or shipping settings, or approving app subscriptions.
