FAQ
What can an Apple Shortcut connect to?
Any app or service with an API or webhook, including Notion, ClickUp, Airtable, Slack, Google Sheets, and automation platforms like Zapier, Make, and n8n.
Will the shortcut work on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac?
Yes, in most cases. Shortcuts sync via iCloud, though a few actions behave differently on Mac, and I’ll test and note any differences.
Can I trigger it with Siri or a Home Screen button?
Yes. I can set up Siri phrases, Home Screen icons, widgets, the Share Sheet, or the Action Button on supported iPhones.
Can a shortcut run automatically without me tapping it?
Partly. Apple’s personal automations can trigger by time, location, or events, but iOS sometimes asks for confirmation before running. I’ll set it up to run as automatically as iOS allows.
Is my API key or token kept safe?
Shortcuts store tokens on your device. I use scoped, revocable tokens where possible, and I recommend rotating any key after delivery. Don’t share keys beyond what the integration needs.
Can you create tasks in ClickUp or Notion from a quick text or voice input?
Yes. A shortcut can ask for input or dictate text, then create a task, page, or record with the fields you choose.
Can it read data back, such as showing today’s ClickUp tasks?
Yes. Shortcuts can fetch data from the API and display it as a list, notification, or widget.
What do I need to provide?
Your Apple device details, access to the apps involved (an API token or integration access), and a description of what you want the shortcut to do.
What if an app updates its API and breaks the shortcut?
That can happen. A fix window is included after delivery, and ongoing maintenance is available as add-on support.
Will I receive instructions for using and editing the shortcut?
Yes. You’ll get a setup guide and short documentation so you can use, tweak, and reinstall it yourself.
