’ll be working on creating a generative AI model to replace the atmospheric radiative transfer module in the 3D DART remote sensing framework. The goal is to significantly speed up simulations while maintaining high physical accuracy across different atmospheric and observation conditions. Key work includes: Designing and training a generative AI model to emulate atmospheric radiative transfer functions Building a large-scale dataset from DART physics-based simulations Selecting and engineering relevant atmospheric features (optical depth, transmittance, scattering, etc.) Validating AI outputs against the original radiative transfer model across spectral and landscape variations Integrating the trained AI model into the DART simulation pipeline for improved efficiency
