How is this different from a beta read?
With a beta read, I expect the draft to be somewhat polished. As a beta reader, I'm essentially a test reader before the work is released to a broader audience. With this rough draft editing gig, I don't expect even a little polish. The draft should be scuffed, scratched, and broken.
Do you only review certain genres?
I prefer fantasy because it's the genre I read for leisure, but I have experience in literary, sci-fi, and mystery as well. If you write in a genre other than fantasy, feel free to reach out and ask!
Does this include line edits?
Nope; most likely you will rewrite a lot of what this draft contains. It's a waste of my time and your time to focus on these finer details.
What am I actually paying for?
You'll receive an in-depth reader report that clearly organizes the issues into sections and provides bulleted action items to help you move forward.
