FAQ
What is developmental editing?
Developmental editing focuses on the bigger picture of your manuscript, including book structure, plot development, character arcs, pacing, organization, and content clarity. The goal is to help you strengthen your book before publication.
What types of books do you edit?
I can work on fiction manuscripts, novels, short stories, and nonfiction books, depending on the project requirements. Please contact me before ordering to confirm that your genre and manuscript are a suitable fit.
What is the difference between developmental editing and proofreading?
Developmental editing focuses on structure, content, story development, and overall organization. Proofreading focuses mainly on spelling, punctuation, grammar, and minor errors. These are different services.
What will I receive after the editing process?
Depending on your selected package, you may receive an annotated manuscript, developmental feedback, a manuscript critique, and practical recommendations for revision. Please review the package details before ordering.
Do you edit full-length books?
The amount of text I can review depends on the package you select. Please message me with your manuscript's word count before ordering so we can agree on the appropriate scope, price, and delivery time.
Will you change my writing style or voice?
My goal is to respect your original writing voice and creative vision. I provide constructive suggestions to improve your manuscript while leaving the final creative decisions in your hands.
Do you offer revisions?
Yes, revisions are available according to the allowance included in your selected package. Revision requests must relate to the original agreed scope of work.
What do you need from me before starting?
Please provide your manuscript in an editable document format, your genre, approximate word count, intended audience, and any specific concerns you want me to address. This helps me understand your editorial goals.
