I build and debug Interactive Brokers API integrations in Python. My focus is the part that breaks in production: orders stuck in Submitted, fills arriving after the code stopped waiting, local positions drifting away from the broker account, and empty quote streams that report no error. Recent work includes event-driven order state from execDetails and orderStatus, a durable intent log written to disk before placeOrder, deduplication by execId, ownership by permId, and two-way position reconciliation. 105 tests, none requiring a live broker connection. Design and operation of automated trading systems for US equities through the Interactive Brokers API, built to written specifications and run continuously on paper accounts. Responsibilities covered the full pipeline: broker connectivity and reconnect handling, market data collection and candle construction from tick streams, instrument screening across the full US equity universe, order execution with fill confirmation, position tracking, and monitoring dashboards. Also built a replay engine for testing trading logic against stored minute data using the same code that runs live, and a parameter sweep on top of it for validation across instrument groups and time periods. Deployment is self-hosted Linux with systemd services.
