Client & Goals Client: Mark Carthew / Sean Brabazon / Trinity Skateparks. Firm: MACRO Consulting Surveyors (Abbott & Macro). Objective: Deliver cadastral, topographical, and engineering survey plans across the Northern Rivers region (NSW). Goals: Re-establish property boundaries, map detailed site features for development, verify infrastructure compliance, and draft proposed subdivision layouts. Challenges Control Networks: Establishing precise Australian Height Datum (AHD) levels using specific state trig marks. Property Encumbrances: Identifying exact locations of legal easements and wide rights of carriageway on-site. Existing Structures: Tracking tight structural clearances, fences, utilities, and pools within small residential lots. As-Built Tolerances: Verifying exact engineering levels for complex concrete geometries and public drainage setups. Solutions Survey Data: Mapped site topography using GDA2020 and AHD benchmarks (Origin PM39102) with 0.25m contour intervals. Boundary Pegging: Re-established partial boundaries and placed physical pegs marking 10m and 6m legal easements. Subdivision Drafting: Designed a balanced 2-lot residential subdivision creating a standalone 400 sqm corner plot. Civil Verification: Delivered Works-As-Executed plans checking concrete floor, step, and retaining wall heights against design levels.
