Freelance Beta Reader
Self-Employed / Freelancer
Apr 2024 - Present • 2 yrs 6 mos
As a freelance writer and editor, I work with authors and writers on strengthening their stories from early development through final polish. My work covers beta reading, developmental feedback, manuscript editing, proofreading, and ghostwriting across multiple fiction genres, including romance, fantasy, thriller, sci-fi, and fanfiction. As a beta reader, I read manuscripts the way a genuine reader would, then provide honest, detailed feedback on plot, pacing, character development, dialogue, worldbuilding, emotional impact, and overall readability. My goal is to help authors understand how their story lands with readers before it goes further, whether that's toward self-publishing, querying agents, or revising for their own satisfaction. As a ghostwriter, I write fiction based on a client's own story ideas, characters, and vision, rather than inventing details on my own. This includes writing romance and trope-driven fiction such as enemies-to-lovers, mafia romance, billionaire romance, and paranormal/werewolf stories, often in a serialized, chapter-by-chapter format similar to platforms like Wattpad. I work closely with each client to understand their premise, characters, tone, and desired outcome before writing, so the finished story reflects their vision, not mine. I also provide developmental feedback for writers still shaping their manuscript, helping identify plot holes, pacing issues, and structural weaknesses early, before they become harder to fix later. My priority is protecting the author's voice. My job isn't to make every manuscript sound the same, it's to help each writer's story become the strongest version of itself while staying true to what they set out to write. I've worked with writers across experience levels, from first-time authors developing their first manuscript to experienced writers preparing a finished draft for beta reading before publication.

Freelance Ghostwriter & Fiction Editor
Self employed / Freelance
Mar 2023 - May 2023 • 2 mos
Working as a freelance ghostwriter and fiction editor, I help authors strengthen their manuscripts and bring their story ideas to life. My work includes developmental editing, proofreading, and ghostwriting fiction across romance, fantasy, thriller, sci-fi, and fanfiction. As a ghostwriter, I write chapters and full stories based on a client's own premise, characters, and vision, keeping their voice central rather than imposing my own style. This includes trope-driven, chapter-by-chapter fiction similar to what's popular on platforms like Wattpad, romance, enemies-to-lovers, mafia romance, and paranormal stories, where I work closely with the client to understand their story before writing a single word. As an editor, I review manuscripts for structure, pacing, dialogue, and reader engagement, going beyond surface-level grammar to help authors see how their story actually lands with readers. This includes flagging plot holes, inconsistent character behavior, and moments where the pacing pulls a reader out of the story, while also highlighting what's already working well so it isn't accidentally lost in revision. I've worked with writers at different stages, from those developing an idea into a full manuscript to those preparing a finished draft for submission or publication. Across every project, my priority stays the same: helping the story become the strongest version of itself while protecting the author's own voice and creative vision.
