I am a retired Central Government finance professional with extensive experience in audit, accounting, financial management, compliance and internal controls within the Government and Defence sector. During my career, I served in the Defence Accounts Department, where I gained substantial experience in examining financial transactions, auditing accounts, scrutinising claims and vouchers, reviewing expenditure, ensuring compliance with applicable government financial rules and procedures, and identifying areas requiring stronger internal controls. My work required a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, analytical ability and attention to detail. My professional background also includes service in the Indian Air Force, giving me valuable exposure to aviation operations, discipline, safety procedures and the functioning of a highly regulated operational environment. In addition, I have experience related to airport operations and aviation fuel/refuelling activities. This combination of finance and aviation experience provides me with a broader understanding of both financial and operational aspects of aviation-related organisations. Over the years, I developed strong capabilities in financial scrutiny, audit observations, compliance reviews, documentation, risk identification, internal-control assessment and preparation of clear, practical reports. I have worked with complex government procedures and understand the importance of accountability, proper documentation and effective financial controls.
