Cyber Essentials readiness for UK small businesses

FAQ
Do you issue the Cyber Essentials certificate?
No. I prepare you for certification. The assessment and the certificate come from an IASME-licensed Certification Body, which you pay, so their fee isn’t included in my price. I’ll explain how to buy the assessment and be you while you complete it.
Which do I need, Cyber Essentials or Cyber Essentials Plus?
Cyber Essentials is a verified self-assessment. Plus adds technical testing by an independent assessor. You need Cyber Essentials first, and the Plus audit has to be completed within three months. We’ll decide which you need on the first call.
How much of my time will this actively take up?
You fill in a short information request (about a week, at your own pace), then we have three calls: scoping (60 minutes), a controls review (90 minutes) and a 30-minute review. How long the project takes depends on how many fixes are needed.
Can you work with our IT provider?
Yes. If someone else manages your IT, we agree who’s responsible for each requirement, turn the gaps into actions they can work on, and check the fixes once they’re done. Your IT provider can join the controls review call and use the client portal.
What happens if we don't pass?
In the extremely rare event that you do not pass, if you complete every fix I recommend and still don’t pass Cyber Essentials or Cyber Essentials Plus, I’ll refund the consultancy fee you paid for that certification. The Certification Body’s own fee isn’t covered.
