Responsibilities: Editing academic manuscripts (that are being submitted to scientific journals, publishers, or conferences) for overall language, spelling, grammar, structure, flow, and clarity. Ensuring that the manuscripts adhere to the submission guidelines of the target publication, where applicable, as well as accepted citation styles. Writing covering letters to the editor(s) of the target publication, summarising the manuscript’s content and its relevance to the publication. Compiling reports on the manuscripts, commenting on the structure, outlining the areas that require improvement, and providing tips on how it can be improved. Responding to client questions and ensuring their intended meaning is conveyed in the manuscript. Short-term Project: Springer Nature Research Integrity Audit (March-April 2026) Part of a small team of experts tasked with auditing up to 9,600 already-published journal articles to flag research integrity issues (such as coercive citations during the peer review process, excessive author changes, and image duplication/plagiarism).
