I’m Alrik Hohenberg, an Electronic Engineering graduate from Technical University of Munich in Germany. I've been developing and producing functional electronics prototypes for over 11 years; ranging from basic PCB layouts through to extensive IoT deployments using both ESP32 and Arduino technologies. Designed and built a fully functional IoT-based environmental monitoring system using ESP32 and a custom designed PCB to monitor temperature, humidity, air quality, and control external devices remotely. What I Built: Designed a custom PCB schematic and layout using KiCad / Altium Integrated ESP32 microcontroller for Wi-Fi + Bluetooth connectivity Implemented sensor modules DHT22, MQ-135, light sensor Designed regulated power supply section 5V → 3.3V conversion Added relay control circuit for switching external AC/DC loads Created over-the-air (OTA) firmware update capability Built a web dashboard for real-time monitoring Technical Responsibilities: PCB schematic design and component selection Multi-layer board layout with proper grounding and EMI considerations Firmware development in C/C++ using ESP-IDF / Arduino framework Serial debugging and signal testing using multimeter & oscillososcope Wi-Fi communication using MQTT protocol Data logging and cloud integration Tools & Technologies ESP32 KiCad / Altium Designer C / C++ MQTT I2C / SPI / UART communication Git version control Results Successfully reduced power consumption by 30% through firmware optimization Achieved stable 24/7 sensor monitoring Deployed working prototype with fully assembled PCB Designed enclosure-ready compact board
