Last Deliver case: How I Built a Real-Time Payment Interoperability System for a Top Colombian Bank THE PROBLEM: Colombia's banking system required a federated directory for low-value interbank transactions, compliant with Central Bank regulations. The challenge: real-time performance, regulatory compliance, and zero tolerance for transaction failures. MY ROLE: Lead Backend Engineer — responsible for microservice architecture, data layer design, and integration with the national payment network. THE SOLUTION: Designed and implemented BRE-B using Java/Spring Boot with MongoDB and SQL, enabling secure, near-real-time settlement between participating banks. The system passed Central Bank compliance review and went live in production.
