Über diesen Service
Planning to import a product into Kenya and not sure what it will cost or what paperwork you need? I am a Nairobi-based CPA and founder of a licensed customs clearing and forwarding company, with seven years managing a cargo branch in China.
You get a clear, written Kenya import plan:
- HS code classification for your product
- - Duty and tax estimate (import duty, excise if any, VAT 16%, IDF and RDL) based on published KRA/EAC rates
- - Document checklist (invoice, packing list, bill of lading/airway bill, permits)
- - Step-by-step clearance process through KRA iCMS
- - Notes on regulators that may apply (e.g. KEBS, PPB, KEPHIS)
Ideal for first-time importers, e-commerce sellers, SMEs and diaspora buyers.
Please provide: product description, photos or spec sheet, quantity, purchase value (and currency), country of origin and shipping mode (sea or air).
Note: this is an estimate. Final duty always follows the actual KRA assessment at clearance. Freight rates are not included.

FAQ
Is the duty figure final?
No. It is an estimate based on published KRA/EAC rates for the HS code. Final duty is set by KRA's assessment at clearance and can change with valuation, classification or new gazette notices.
Do you include shipping or freight rates?
No. This gig covers classification, taxes, documents and clearance steps. If you already have freight and insurance figures, I will use them to work out the CIF value.
Can you do this for a vehicle or a restricted item?
Please message me before ordering. Some goods need special permits or follow separate valuation rules, so I will tell you if the gig fits.
